New Believer Questions

The first things a new believer needs are: read the Bible (start with John or Mark), pray honestly, find a church community, and connect with other believers who can walk alongside them. Faith in Jesus is not a solo project. Community, Scripture, and prayer are the three foundations — in that order of doing, not of importance.

A person receives the Holy Spirit at the moment they genuinely trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour — not after a second experience, not after baptism, not as a reward for spiritual achievement. The Spirit is given to all who believe, immediately and permanently. Peter said it plainly at Pentecost: "Repent, and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38, KJV). Faith in Jesus and the gift of the Spirit arrive together.

The best spiritual growth courses are Bible-based, Christ-centred, and practical. They should help you know Jesus, understand Scripture, obey God’s Word, and grow through the Holy Spirit rather than simply offering vague self-help or religious motivation.
