Every one of us knows regret: the unkind word, the selfish choice, the secret habit.
The Bible names the root problem sin—falling short of the life we were made for (Romans 3:23).

• Sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2).

• It ends in death—physical and spiritual (Romans 6:23).

• No rule-keeping or self-improvement can erase guilt (Psalm 49:7-8).

Yet the Bible’s plot pivots on good news: God Himself steps in to save. “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

What the Bible Means by “Salvation”

Salvation (Greek sōtēria) is deliverance—being rescued from danger and brought to safety. In Christian teaching it is:

• Deliverance from sin’s penalty, power and—one day—presence.

• Restoration to a life-giving relationship with God (John 17:3).

Most of us know the feeling. It's 2am and your mind won't stop. The same thought loops, the same fears, the same what-ifs spinning on repeat. Anxiety isn't a modern invention — it's been part of the human experience since the beginning. And the Bible, written across thousands of years of human struggle, speaks directly into it.

Not to dismiss it. Not to tell you to just pray harder and get over it. But to give you something solid to hold onto when everything else feels shaky.

There's a version of prayer nobody warns you about. The version where you sit down, bow your head, and feel absolutely nothing. No warmth. No sense of God close by. Just your own thoughts rattling around in a quiet room.

Most people experience this and assume something is wrong with them — or worse, wrong with God. So they quietly stop praying. Which is the worst thing to do, for a reason we'll get to.

Here's what's actually going on — and what to do with it.

At some point, almost every Christian asks the same question. Which job should I take? Should I move? Is this the right person? What am I supposed to be doing with my life?

And somewhere underneath all those specifics is the same deeper question: how do I know what God wants?

Here's the honest answer — we've often been asking for the wrong thing. Not because the desire to follow God is wrong. Because we're expecting a kind of specific, personalised roadmap that the Bible rarely promises. What it does offer is something better.

Jesus of Nazareth is the most written-about, debated, influential person in human history. More books have been written about Him than anyone else who ever lived. Two thousand years after His death, roughly a third of the world's population follows Him — and the other two-thirds have an opinion about Him.

So who actually is He?

Not the version filtered through stained glass and childhood nativity plays. Not the vague inspirational figure culture sometimes makes Him. The actual Jesus — what He said, what He claimed, what happened, and what it means.
